SCHOOL GARDEN COST SHARE PROGRAM

School Gardening for SC Educators

The Greenville County Soil & Water Conservation District is proud to announce its support for the School Gardening for SC Educators program. The District has funding available for six (6) Greenville County schools who have put at least three teachers and/or members of staff through the program. This funding will support half ($750) of the cost of a school garden kit, which can be ordered through the program after completion of the online training.

Who will serve on your school garden team? Identify the team leaders and members of the school’s garden team (must include at least 3 teachers/members of staff). Include team member’s related knowledge and experience to ensure successful implementation. Include any other applicable partnerships (i.e. local farmer, local chef, parent, community leader, master gardener, etc.)*
Our funding is only available for schools that have had at least three (3) members of staff go through 'School Gardening for SC Educators' online training.
Explain how your school will utilize the garden to integrate food into classroom and/or cafeteria activities (i.e. taste tests, school farmer’s market, etc.). Explain plans for sustainability (short term and long term goals) for the garden.*
