The NACD Poster and Photo Contest: “Home is Where the Habitat is"

Students at public schools, private schools, camps, FFA and other youth organizations in Greenville County are invited to share their creativity and passion for the environment to create meaningful artwork that highlights conservation. Students submit entries to Greenville County Soil and Water Conservation District through their teachers, schools or parent/guardians for the opportunity to be selected as a local, state or national winner.

2025-2026 Champions of the Environment Grant

K-12 teachers are invited to apply for the SC Department of Environmental Services (DES) Grant to receive up to $2,500 for environmental projects. This grant can be used to provide funding for projects with the Green Step Schools program. To apply and learn more, visit the website.

Symbolic Monarch Migration

Send monarchs to Mexico with Monarch Joint Venture! Elementary students create an ambassador butterfly folder to be gifted to another student in Mexico, who will send a letter in the Spring. Contact Greenville County Soil and Water Conservation District to learn about monarch butterfly life cycles, migration, pollution challenges, and activities to supplement this project.

Ag in the Classroom

Ag in the Classroom is a South Carolina Farm Bureau program that promotes agricultural literacy and awareness for K-12 students and teachers by bringing agriculture into the classroom through curriculum, hands-on activities, mobile learning labs, and teacher workshops. The program aims to increase understanding of South Carolina's food and fiber systems and offers resources like lesson plans, the Ag Learning Lab, the Ag Combine Simulator, and mini-grants for teachers to foster agricultural education.
